I think that, even more than responsibility, Havria must have loved her people like they were her own children. She could have easily abandoned them to whatever god might want her lands and left them to the victor's mercy. I don't think mere duty would be enough to compel someone to stay in that sort of situation.
If that was the case... perhaps she would have felt shocked, or disappointed. But there's very little that we won't forgive our family for. I think, more than anything else, she would have been sad. Not because of her own death, but because she wasn't able to save them--that she couldn't even warn them of the unintended consequences before it was too late.
[ THIS IS REAL SAD?? he was not expecting this but at the same time, how else was a story like this going to end... ]
...
If more gods were like Havria I believe that people would have vastly different opinions about them. I wouldn't imagine that everyone would approve of such a soft-hearted and compassionate sounding god ruling over them, but a lot less people would have likely suffered at their hands.
[ The saddest thing? She's not alone. Teyvat's history is filled with gods and goddesses whose deaths were tragedies that could have been avoided. ]
There are some gods like her still. Barbatos, the god of freedom and the wind, is a gentle soul that helped end a despotic aristocracy and has since been a gentle if distance presence in his lands, and the goddess of wisdom, Nahida, treats her people with kindness and respect despite having been imprisoned by some and left to languish without question by the rest.
But... yes. Too often the gentle ones didn't make it.
[ wind god who is about freedom, huh? now where does that sound familiar... ]
Well, that's comforting news for an outsider like myself to learn. I'm personally shocked to learn that a goddess of wisdom would have such patience. Or maybe it's just myself who has had knowledgeable people who have been rather impatient.
Are the two gods that you've mentioned in any future danger? Or have any need to worry.
I guess it depends on what you mean by "danger." The older a god gets, the more erosion becomes a threat.
[ And then there's the Fatui, and the Abyss Order, and even Celestia themselves.... That freaking upside down defiled statue that she never did anything about.... ]
[ kaveh falls silent for a couple of moments... and then he's suddenly scribbling out the pair of drawings. ] It's not like the Principal has to be some ungrateful nag who doesn't know how to appreciate artistry and has the styling prowess of a Sumpter Beast. [ stop projecting kaveh!!! ]
Well, I guess if you're really not interested in him, then I can stop holding back! I wasn't going to make a move, since I thought maybe you had a thing for him, but....
[ She has no intention of doing this. She just wants to see if Kaveh can keep trying to pretend if she says something like this. ]
He has a really nice body and he's super dependable as a fighter, so I feel like we could really hit it off. What do you think?
[ BE HONEST, KAVEH. also please don't put that pencil through her eye for stating the obvious about your boyfriend]

[ this... took a turn. an unexpected turn. does she... really like him? alhaitham?? what poor taste in people he says, crushing hard on that same scribe. ]
I, I don't have a thing for him. We're roommates. Nothing more. Barely that, actually. What with him always accidentally taking my key. It's like he's not so subtlely trying to give me a hint. [ a hint he's choosing to ignore? ] But that house is as much mine as it is his!
Aren't you already friends? ...you already hit it off. [ his lips draw into a tight, thin line as he tries not to get too jealous over this imaginary scenario. ] I... I like him, alright? Is that what you want to hear me say? [ he throws the notebook and pen onto the table and folds his arms. ] But he's too thick to realize. [ and he hasn't obviously been straight with him, so... dancing in circles. ]
[ nts. She's going to have to move this man up on her list of people she has to protect, most especially from himself. He's so gullible, someone's going to grift his clothes right off his back. ]

It's okay, you know. I mean, you might not want to make that part of your life that public, but you don't have to be embarrassed with me.
