Bio ☽ The golden haired twin daughter to Zeus, sister of the revered sun god Apollo, goddess of wild animals, the hunt, vegetation, chastity, childbirth, and the moon. Her most distinctive attributes were her bow and arrows but she was also sometimes equipped with a quiver or a pair of hunting spears and clothed in a shift and crown. The doe was sacred to her, as were her clandestine dances with her hand maidens, the wood nymphs.

☽ The handsome giant Orion was a companion of the goddess but her jealous brother Apollo tricked her into killing him with a distant bow-shot. In her grief Artemis placed him amongst the stars as the constellation Orion.
