That just means it's an opportunity for me to enjoy them for the first time all over again, right? Either way, that was really thoughtful of you.

[ He takes her hand and leads her over to the cushions, plopping down ]

You'll have to tell me if they still hold up. Who knows? Maybe your tastes have changed.

You'd be a better judge than me--but you have to have some, too.

[ She settles down on a cushion next to him and eyes the spread in front of her with eager eyes. ]

I'm not sure what to start with first. Do you like meat, or are you more of a vegetarian?

I'm a vegetarian, so the meat dishes are all yours! Don't worry, though, I made plenty of my own favorites too.

[ Pushing Sweet Madame her way ]

[ Not even gruesome zombie shenanigans can make Lumine give up meat permanently. She slices herself a piece of the bird off, getting a better scent of the singular dish as she does so. ]

[ Grinning at her enthusiasm as he pulls a veggie stew toward himself ]

[ She takes a bite and waits until she gets through it before giving her official assessment, but it's pretty clear from the look on her face how she feels. ]

[ Juicy, tender, and a mix of savory and sweet. Perfect! ]

[ Looking a tad smug. Just a little. ]

It's good to see your tastes haven't changed much.

[ He worked hard on this, he deserves to be smug. ]

You probably know what I like better than I do at this point.

For some things, maybe. But you've always been quite the enigma in others~

That is pretty weird. I'd've thought I would have wanted something.

[ She lapses into a momentary thoughtful silence as she reflects on that. ]

I'm sorry. I know you're not upset, but I still feel like I should at least have an explanation for you. I just don't really have the answers for that at this point.

[ But she's going to try to do a better job of getting them, and soon. ]

But I can at least tell you something I want now.

[ Tilting his head ]

I want do this again. And I'd like to get to know you better, too.

[ Leaning over and touching his hand. ]

[ Twisting his hand so he can tangle their fingers together ]

We can do this as often as you'd like, until you'd rather know less of me rather than more.

And what if that just never happens, huh?

Then I think you'd be stuck with me, in that case!

Oooh, you're threatening me with a good time!

Hehehe, don't lock yourself into anything before you know what you're getting into.

[ It's delivered light and airy as all the other jokes, but also, dead serious ]

That's the whole point, though, right? You do these things to get to know each other. But even if it didn't work out, I'm sure I'd still want to be your friend.
